FAQs
(Frequently Asked Questions about Ear Reshape Surgery)
In addition to the ear reshape queries outlined below, please refer to Factors Common to All Surgical Procedures.
Q. What if I don’t like the final shape and position of my ears?
A. If the ears aren’t pinned back far enough, further surgery can pin them back further. If the opposite situation occurs it is extremely difficult to rectify.
Q. How can I stop people staring at my bruised and swollen ears immediately after the op?
A. If you have long hair the ears can be hidden easily enough. If the hair cannot cover the ears wearing a hair band over the ears can hide the bruising in females. In men this is not a feasible option but in our experience this has never been a serious issue as the bruising and swelling quickly subside after the procedure.
Q. Do I need time off work?
A. Most people engaged in non-physical work go back after a few days. Those whose work involves heavy physical exertion are advised to wait two weeks to allow adequate time for healing.
